Have a great weekend.
This week, Ibbotson class at The Collett have been learning about the Celts. They made cushions which incorporated many areas of learning. They dyed the fabric with natural made from vegetables, incorporating knowledge from science, art and life skills in the kitchen. Then they ironed the fabric, practising life and safety skills. The children were excited to try using the sewing machine - an exploration of how technology improved our lives from Celtic standards! Finally, they stuffed and sewed their cushions which is great for building on fine motor skills. A very busy week. Well done Ibbotson class.

On Wednesday, as part of their work on materials, Oak class at St Luke's tested which materials could support bubbles for the longest before they popped. Wax paper, plastic wrap and foil all worked well. Materials that absorb water, such as paper caused the bubbles to pop because they quickly soaked up the water in the bubble.
PLATINUM JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS
Don't Forget next Friday is our Platinum Jubilee Street Part. The children can come to school wearing either red, white and blue or 1950s themed outfits. If you could make some cakes for our Jubilee Street Party we would be very grateful. Please send any donations in with your child on the day.
