Who are we?
Friends of St Luke’s School Redbourn (FOSLR) is the parent body of the school. All parents, carers and members of the families of our pupils are members of FOSLR.
The role of parents in supporting the activities of the school has always been very important.
Over the years, the FOSLR has not only been a sounding board of some of the ideas that the school might have in our development plan but have also worked tirelessly in supporting the school by raising funds which are used in providing facilities and resources for the pupils to enjoy.
The FOSLR have over the years supported the school in raising funds for:
- A new school minibus
- The trim trail which is on the school playground for the pupils.
- Marking on the playground which has contributed to the teaching and learning environment in the school
- Hoodies for the leaving year 11 pupils.
- The Interactive Sensory Room and obtaining a £20,000 grant from The Wooden Spoon Charity to fund the rest of the project
We raise funds by organising different events throughout the year which includes:
- Summer BBQ and Rounders Evening
- Christmas Fayre
- Quiz Nights
- Movie Night, etc.
The Friends of St Luke’s Redbourn is a charity and we have our accounts audited and reported to the Charity commission annually.
As a parent of a pupil in the school, we welcome your suggestions on different activities that we can do to raise funds to support the school in providing an outstanding environment promoting security, self-esteem, independence, education and fun for all our pupils.
We meet once a term, and to contact us, you can email us on email@example.com; and watch for announcement about meetings and activities in the school newsletter.
We are encouraging applications from staff and students for projects which meet our aims. The playground equipment has proved so popular that FOSLR may be looking to provide extra facilities.
