Pupil Premium – 2013-14

All pupils at St Luke’s school have a statement of special education needs. Their needs include learning difficulties, autism and speech, language and communication needs. Many of the pupils have a combination of these difficulties.

Total amount of PPG received – (financial Year April to April) £43,000

Nature of support 2013/14

The pupil premium has been used to support the extra provision of:

A literacy Intervention Coordinator providing Literacy interventions 1-1 and in small groups

Music Therapy provision

Additional resources for literacy and numeracy ie Read Write Inc, Rapid Maths
Individual counselling sessions

Additional teaching and learning opportunities provided through learning mentors or TA’s.
At St Luke’s we ensure that appropriate provision is made for pupils who belong to vulnerable groups, this includes ensuring the needs of socially disadvantaged pupils are adequately assessed and addressed.

We recognise that not all pupils who are socially disadvantaged are registered or qualify for free school meals. We reserve the right to allocate pupil premium funded provision or resource to such pupils.

Impact

We have seen accelerated progress with targeted pupils who have been involved in intervention programmes. The Literacy Intervention Coordinator monitors and reports on the progress of literacy groups as does the Director of Access and Participation and Inclusion for other interventions.
