Friends of St Luke's School Redbourn
Who are we?
Friends of St Luke’s Redbourn (FOSLR) is a charity whose aim is to advance the education of the students of St Luke’s school by developing effective relationships between the staff, parents and others associated with the school; engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment, which support the school and advance the education of the students.
What have we achieved?
Since its founding in 2003 FOSLR has purchased/donated the following:
£5000 towards equipping a New Vocational/Life Skills/ICT Suite.
£1500 towards the cost of student’s activities week trips for 2 years running.
£2100 to purchase dining room table and chairs requested by the students.
£1500 for a Kit Car for lunchtime club.
£7000 towards the cost of purchasing a mini bus with wheelchair lift.
£10000 towards the £20000 needed to enable us to achieve Specialist School Status.
What’s next?
An interactive sensory room is planned for April 2011 funded by FOSLR and the Hertfordshire branch of Wooden Spoon.
Following that we aim to raise funds for some playground equipment and an outdoor shelter. This project has been suggested by the students themselves.
